ČKD Kompresory
Tomáš made his very first footballing steps at Prague-based ČKD Kompresory, later renamed to Dropa Střížkov and currently known as Bohemians Praha. When he was six years old, he went to his first training sessions together with his older brother Jiří with whom he later transferred to Sparta Praha.
However, Tomáš had by that time gained his first experience of the atmosphere of competitive matches on cinder pitches in Prague before he joined Sparta. Unlike today, young children didn't play on small-sized pitches and so Tomáš, being younger than most of his team-mates, collected his first on-pitch minutes rather slowly.
When he finally received his chance to appear in the starting line-up, he couldn't have known that it was to be the very last match he would play for Kompresory. On that particular day – May 27, 1987 – his team beat Viktoria 8 3:0, which made Tomáš's recollections of his first club highly positive.
A month later he transferred to the Sparta Praha U7 team.
